Pre-Sales Consultant - Your role:

We are expanding our presence in the US and are seeking a hands-on, implementation-led Pre-Sales Consultant to join SoftCo. This role is ideal for someone who has built deep delivery, implementation, or technical consulting experience within AP / P2P software and is now looking to transition into pre-sales.

Rather than a narrowly scoped pre-sales specialist, we are looking for a well-rounded, hands-on solution consultant — someone who understands AP and procurement processes end-to-end, can credibly engage on both technical and functional detail, and is comfortable demonstrating solutions, running discovery, and shaping practical, real-world implementations.


You will partner closely with Sales as a trusted solution advisor bringing practical implementation insight to customer conversations and helping prospects understand how SoftCo’s AP Automation platform works in real operational environments. This is a high-visibility role in our US team with significant opportunity to influence customer success and solution strategy.

Your responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities and understand customer requirements across AP, procurement, and finance workflows  bringing practical implementation insight to early-stage solution design.

  • Lead discovery workshops to uncover pain points and align them to solution capabilities with a strong focus on current-state processes and real-world operational constraints.

  • Act as a Pre-sales Solution Consultant, bridging technical and business perspectives to design practical, scalable, scalable, and implementation-ready solutions tailored to customer needs.

  • Deliver tailored, high-impact demonstrations and presentations to technical and executive audiences, grounded in real implementation scenarios, and create interactive and recorded product demo content for self-service and live client use.

  • Develop solution proposals with process flows, architecture designs, and ROI business cases.

  • Leverage AI-powered automation capabilities to demonstrate advanced analytics, fraud detection, and autonomous AP workflows, positioning SoftCo as an industry innovator. 

  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs by clearly articulating functional and technical capabilities, drawing on hands-on delivery and implementation experience.

  • Collaborate with partners to ensure successful solution positioning and drive new business opportunities.

  • Act as a trusted advisor on AP automation, compliance, and process best practices.

  • Provide leadership in pre-sales engagements, mentoring junior team members, sharing best practices, and raising the standard of solution delivery.

  • Provide continuous market, competitor, and customer insight to both Product and Marketing teams, influencing product roadmap, solution strategy, messaging, and sales enablement materials.

  • Contribute to marketing initiatives including webinars, events, and thought leadership, bringing a practitioner’s perspective to customer-facing content.

  • Represent SoftCo with professionalism and expertise in client-facing engagements.

  • Adhere to company policies and compliance standards.

  • Deliver other ad-hoc duties as required.

Your profile:

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering and implementing AP automation, P2P, or procurement software solutions, with a strong understanding of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes and typical customer requirements, and exposure to solution consulting or pre-sales activities. Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering AP / P2P solutions, with the ability to translate complex operational and technical requirements into clear, compelling solution architectures.

  • Exposure to pre-sales activities such as discovery, demonstrations, workshops, or RFP support is advantageous.

  • Experience working with AI-driven enterprise solutions, ideally within finance, automation, or ERP environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice capture, matching, approvals, supplier management, compliance.

  • Strong business process analysis skills with the ability to map requirements to solution features and delivery considerations.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.) and system integration concepts.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience - whether mentoring colleagues, leading workshops, or influencing cross-functional teams in high-stakes sales cycles.

  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior finance stakeholders, including CFO-level audiences.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and process concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Consultative, problem-solving approach with strong commercial awareness and customer focus.

  • Self-motivated and able to operate independently in a fast-paced international environment.

  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, workshops, and events.
